On September 2, 2021, they were diagnosed with COVID-19, and little did they know that their lives would soon change dramatically. Rick became severely ill with COVID pneumonia, becoming omebound for months and dependent on home oxygen. This illness cost him his corporate job and nearly his life. Amy, one of the Shavers, has a rich background in the short-term rental (STR) industry. She purchased her first STR in 2005 at just 25 years old, working on the project with her late father.
